After we had a nice breakfast with Tanja - Ian didn't join as he had a hand-over from the night before LOL ;) - we drove from Ingham via Mission Beach to Innisfail, and then went inland to Milaa Milaa, to follow the waterfall trail, with the three waterfalls:
- Ellinjaa Falls
- Zillie Falls
- Millaa Millaa Falls
This was a great drive, we first stopped in Mission Beach to have our lunch. This is an awesome beach with an awesome drive to this beach.. Suddenly you drive into the tropics. The rain forest reaches till on the beach, what makes the place unique.
After our lunch we drove via Innisfail to Millaa Millaa, and went for the falls scenic drive.. This was awesome.. As mentioned before we saw 3 waterfalls.. They are awesome.. All within a radius of 20km..
From there we drove to Malanda, and via the Tablelands to Gordonvale and Cairns.. The tablelands are great.. Driving thru the mist in the high mountains of this tropic area, and going from tropics back in coastal Queensland.. This is definitly a place to go back to.. Cairns and surroundings...
When we drove into Cairns we had rain.. rain and more rain.. So we couldn't do anything.. We booked a backpackers a day before..So we had a accomodation to stay.. Acalypso Backpackers.. We made some dinner.. Check the internet.. an listened to the rain..
As the rain was massive we couldn't do anything else :( We where looking forward to have a nightly walk on the strand.. But we have to leave this for a next time..
