Returning from Oman, we found the best western type hotel we have stayed at during our travels. It felt like home, with the soft duvet covers and comfortable bed. It was great having a kitchen where we could actually cook our own food, even if it only turned out that I made spaghetti and chicken nuggets and boiled water for Top Ramon noodles, so much for my Thai cooking classes!

After we checked in, I actually had to go back down to the front desk and ask them if we where in the right room. It was just too nice for only $50 a night!  It even included a nice breakfast.  The staff was so professional and friendly and assured me that we were in the right room.

After dropping my camera in the sands in Oman, and it refused to work properly,  I went to look for a camera shop.  I was surprised to find one open at 10:30pm.  The man was very helpful and told me that he will have his technician take a look at it and he would call me the next day.

He called me the next day and told me that it would cost about $54 USD to fix it.  I was, of course, debating if it would be worth it because what if it didn't work when we visit all these awesome sights in Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.   I spent the next week shopping for a new camera but they were all extremely expensive, even with the Dubai Shopping Festival!   I certainly did not want to use a disposable camera for the pyramids!  So my debate continued, should I fix my camera or spend the money for a new one???????

NIKOLAS VERSION

We stayed at the nicest hotel in Sharjah.  It was like an apartment, it had a flat screen TV, bathroom and a kitchen.  It was an awesome hotel.  It was so good that we stayed  another week and I didn't want to leave.

We went to Abu Dhabi to meet up with Tom and Daniel Blake   We went to Fun City again and to see the movie "A Spy Next Door".

I loved going across the street from our hotel to the park.  It was the same big slide I went on before we left for Oman.  Funny that we ended up staying at a hotel across from the same awesome park that we went to before.  I went down this huge slide almost every day.
