After our Desert safari, we headed back out on the highway for Nizwa.  We visited the Nizwa fort which was built in the 17th century.  It took some 12 years to build and its famed for its 40m tall round tower.  We climbed to the top and we had a spectacular view of Nizwa, it was disappointing to only have a disposable camera, which didn't take such great photos.

We didn’t go to the Souq as it was closed in the afternoon and I really didn’t feel like buying anything, lucky for Nikolas.

We were very disappointed that we didn’t get to go to Al Hoota caves.  It had rained for 2 days and they closed it due to the flooding.  We had heard so many great things about this beautiful cave which is richly embellished with stalactites and stalagmites.  We decided instead of waiting a couple of days for the rain to dry out, we would head back to Muscat to see about flying back to Dubai earlier.
