Sailing across the Channel on Cartman.
We might have just got the world record for the slowest ever crossing of the English Channel - it took the entire weekend!
We had just enough time in Cherbourg to refuel ourselves with a lovely seafood dinner, check out a fantastic rainbow, then straight back to the boat for the return trip.
There is very little wind, lots of rain, and far to much fog - Not great conditions for sailing (to say the least), but really not what you want when you are crossing the shipping lanes in a 35 foot yacht with no radar. Like any of those huge container ships would even notice that they had run you down.
It was "an experience" and we made it safely home... at 4:30 in the morning - and still managed to get up for work at 7:00am.
