Diamond Head was a mild hike. It was a winding trail with dry flora and fauna. During the war it was used as a bunker. To get to the top we had to go through a tunnel and climb up a narrow spiral staircase. The views at the top were beautiful. The ocean waves, the city...There are so many areas in Oahu with beautiful views! Lots of spots to meditate.

Pali is a cliff were many people were thrown/pushed off of during battles. It is said to be haunted there. I didn't see or hear anything. We walked a small trail that was just a little walk, beautiful views of course.

Wiliwilinui had to be the hardest and most adventurous hike on the whole trip. First we were hiking over fist-sized rocks, what a pain in the ass. There were trees hovering over us. It was cooler so the trees were different again. It was muddy too. Looking up clouds were starting to close in. I wanted to hike it rain or shine. Then the trail starting to go up with some ridiculous stairs that were falling apart. No wonder there was rope to help you. Then there were no stairs and rope only. Well, I'm glad I took rock climbing and generally like to climb things. Scott was always about a mile ahead of Mike and I. He didn't even appear that tired. He Man! From certain higher viewpoints you could see Waikiki and the southeast side of the island. It was the largest view yet. Wow! When we got to the top it was raining and there were clouds all around us - misty mountain top. It reminded me of a Chinese painting of mountain peaks with clouds wrapping around them. Going down was another story. Mike was testing the ropes and said, "one person at a time." I thought, what for? I started to go down the same rope as Mike. LOL...then I understood, because soon enough did we both fall over into the mud. It was so funny. We just kept going down the same rope and eating shit. We laughed so much. It was great. When we got to the bottom we were all sweaty, muddy, and yucky. That night's shower had to be the most enjoyable of the trip!

The culinary highlight of the day was Bubbies ice cream shop. I had been whining the whole trip about how I HAD to have ice cream. Actually it had been a craving I've had for 1-2 months. I was trying to watch my weight for the trip. Ohhhh....macadamia nut ice cream, espresso ice cream, coconut chocolate chip ice cream....It was so delicious. We went back the next day and I got another macadamia nut ice cream and a guava mochi. YUM!
