Last night when eating in a massive restaurant, all wooden panelled walls with matching ceiling but a few mirrors above enabled surreptitious studies of other diners. Typically, a man asking for coins entered, this one pushing a disabled son in his wheelchair, moved quietly among diners and had a young girl by his side. This behaviour is not unusual here. Earlier, at a busy road junction was a boy of around eleven I guess, carried 3 juggling balls and as the lights turned red he walked in front of the cars, assuming they would obey the code of the road. He needs lots of practice to become proficient but still plied his trade with the dignity of a professional and gained very little for his work. Peter did give him a coin, but it seems very insignificant.

It is usually soulful eyed young girls who come round the restaurants touting small bunches of flowers or little cards, like lottery tickets. (we are yet to discover exactly what these are. During one half hour lunch time we were visited by three young girls, usually between 5 and 8. Three separate grown up sellers placed their wares on our table, including CDs, some folding spectacles, and a gadget which magically opened as he put it down, some kind of torch I think.

The park area is large and beautiful. The Evita museum difficult to find and very under sung as it gives a glimpse into the life of that mysterious figure, we all know so well and yet not at all. The enigma lives as far as I am concerned and whilst the visit was worth the 10 pesos, there is so much more the museum could do to enlighten us. I did learn that Eva Peron did a huge amount for womens rights in Argentina.

Thats it for today off to catch a bus to Mar del Plata , 6 hour ride so hope its worth it.
