Where I stayed
This will probably be our shortest entry yet, as this entire day was spent driving from Taupo to Wellington. But we just wanted to share a few pictures that we took along the Desert Road just south of Taupo. After that Martijn fell asleep in the car and Trude just merily continued onwards and forgot to stop for any other pictures.
Oh, the mountain isn't actually called Mount Doom, but that is the name most people will recognise it under. If anyone wants to add to their general knowledge, that mountain is properly called: Mount Ngauruhoe. (But we can't pronounce that either!)

Ngaruoahoe
go on try :P *daresyou*
sp..
I see we have all managed to mis-spell or (in my case) typo the name...its Ngaruahoe :P
Re: sp..
I more believe the person who originally named it typod it THEN and we are doing it right... Surely the fact that everyone does it wrong supports that theory :P
