Our local news was swapped with the grisly report of a local eastside Indianapolis family was murdered two days ago. It was an awful tragedy. Seven members of one family spanning three generations were gunned down in cold blood. After a massive manhunt, the IPD made two arrests in the city worse murder scene in over 25 years. As we sort though the implications of living in a city suffering such a tragedy we once again asked ourselves, "Will we be safe traveling to Turkey?" After all, there was a recent bombing in a coastal city of Mersin in Turkey reported to have happened on today (June 3).

So, Julia and jump online to check things out about the bombing and 12 - 15 people injured in Mersin. We found a Turkish newspaper in English. We read the report and realized it Mersin is not located near any of the cities we are expected to visit. But what was most astonishing was to read the fifth story in their world news page of this website was about the murders right here in Indianapolis! How ironic. Are the Turkish people we are to visit wondering if they are safe with Indianapolis people visiting their country, or their homes?

Puts fear in prospective.
