Monday March 7th,
Anita and I got up to make the 3 hour drive to Seward. I booked us tickets on Kenai Fjords to take a cruise around Resurrection Bay and go to the Sealife Center (http://www.alaskasealife.org/). The weather on our cruise wasn't ideal at all, mostly rainy, but we still had fun, especially once we made it further out at the head of the bay where there was some good swells. But we saw eagles, puffins, some seals, and even had some Dall Porpoises come up to play in the bow wake of the boat. The cruise in all was about 3 hrs, and lunch was provided. It was an enjoyable cruise with plenty of beautiful scenery. After we got back to the harbor, we drove down to the Sealife Center and spent a good 3 hrs walking around checking everything out. The Sealife Center is a must for anyone going to Seward, extremely informative and enjoyable. After we finished with the Sealife Center, we went and checked in to the Seward Marina Motel, my friend Jennifer's Aunt owns it and we chatted with her for awhile before going out to dinner and returning to relax for the evening.
Tuesday March 8th
The original plan was to get up and drive to Soldotna then Homer, and spend the night in Homer. But sleeping in sounded like a great idea that morning so we slept in. Later we got coffee and spent the day wandering around Seward, checking out beaches and some junkyards to find souvenirs for Anita's dad that has a small in home car model museum back in Holland. We found some Chevy signs and a couple of license plates he can hang up. That evening we grabbed dinner and retired to our room to relax.
