5:01 and waiting to board my flight UA8082 from Roanoke to Dulles in Washington, DC.  I am pumped.  Had coffee on the way with my great friend, Daryl who woke at 3:30 to Drive me to Roanoke Regional Airport.  I have taken a picture of me standing in front of the window the other side of which you can barely see my plane.  I am in seat 3c, and so far, no upgrades are available to me.  :(.  I will persevere.  I have seen Bradley, my roommate, and soon we will be headed to the next leg of our journey.
Yesterday, I had the good fortune to spend most of the day with my good friends, Daryl, Charles, and David Charles.  We swam in the pool, talked, and had a great lunch.  I have numerous house sitters.  Again, I will miss my pottery friends, but I am sure they will make beautiful, wonderful works of art while I am gone.  They have an able instructor to guide them and a wonderful studio, the Bramble ton Center, in which to work.
I will miss my school friends, especially Martha, Katie, Sharon, Tricia, and Missy.  I hope Mrs. Humphrey keeps David in line.
I am a lucky man. I have 3 great children who love me no matter what, a job I love in a school system, Salem Virginia, that couldn't be better, and a wonderful trip led by experienced capable people.  I am sure my new roommate, Bradley and I will get along.  No hitting, Bradley, and use nice words. Good-bye USA, hello China!
