At the border I had about an hours delay and wait from the issue of my immigration stamp problem from earlier and trying to explain that I had sorted it and paid the fine already. They basically said the fine should have been $250 dollars but I remembered the SE Asia, Buddhist way of not losing your temper and how it didn't help in Luang Prabang, stated cool bit adamant I wasn't paying any extra and they finally let me through but at he last moment when she brought my passport back I noticed her name badge and so wanted to ask for a photo but felt I'd have been pushing my luck but her surname was Lorbandit... No joke; you couldn't make it up but not trying to sound like a broken record, that is SE Asia all over...
Onward to Thailand and Chiang Rai...
