Nothing much to report but a long days travel with a stop off at Oudem Xai, pretty northerly and already seeing signs of the current and largely imminent influx of Chinese in to Laos. Not to bore you with politics but from conversations it seems China are piling money in to the country and have loads of Chonese living down, similar to what they are doing in Burma but without so many migrants but I reckon Laos will be completely different in 10 years and for the worse too and apparently Burma is on a similar course.

Only good point was there was a mini fair with a gambling corner with a wheel of fortune with numbers 1-9 where you could bet on 1,4,7 or 2,4,8 or 3,6,9 and throw a dart at the spinning wheel for the number... Being the canny gambler I am I bet on 2 sections always covering my bets and ended up a rennet up but unlike me I collecting my winnings and called it a day - not even one beer or pound list?!

Anyway, next day I took the next bus up to Luang Namtha the penultimate stop to going back to Thailand...
