Howdy from the Charleston Marina in Coos Bay.  Yesterday we had the longest run of the trip so far.  We were underway by 5 AM and had planned on being on the water until 7 PM or so.  We got a break as the current was going with us and cut a couple of hours off our time.   We got in at 5:30PM.

The fog was thick the entire day with visibility only 100-200 yards or so most of the time.  We didn't SEE any other boats but thanks to AIS and RADAR we knew there weren't any to be seen.  We finally had a bit of a ride crossing the bar but it still wasn't nearly as rough as some I have ridden as a charter boat passenger out of Westport.

The marina is very, shall we say, rugged and other than being cheap doesn't give any reason to recommend it as a vacation spot.

The most interesting part of the day was the evening when all four of us complained of feeling like the engines in the boats were still running.  Remember the feeling you got when you took off your roller skates and it felt like you still had them on?  Even when we went to bed we swore it sounded and felt like the engine was still going.  We sure hope we get to set some sail soon.
