Hi Sorry Rolling Stones for the play on the words just could not resist it.
Especially after experiencing the Exciting and very unique Bahamian Music and Heritage Festival last week in George Town.
Where we made it onto Bahamian Television!!!!!
Exumas are very mystical and even magical. You get the feeling all of you wildest dreams and wishes can come true. " Just Ask Sue"
So where have we been? After a long stay in George Town, where we rubbed gunwales with another 300+ boats, we headed back North with Peter MacGregor and Sue Jones.
George Town had so much to do with countless boater organised activities every day and most nights. let alone the local culture etc.
Examples:
various free beach side seminars on everything and anything you could wish to know.
Beach Volley Ball (only if you are very good and prove it) in a serious competition.
Also Ran's Volley Ball too.
Yoga Classes ( Rebecca,s were always packed out)
Beach Church.
Jam sessions with much fun and frivolity, rum and beer and 300+ other cruisers.
Cruisers Entertainment family Show
Too many more thing to list but I think you get the picture.
Of course Hiking and all the natural play things as well not to mention one of now favourite activities. ALL DAY SHOPPING.
Funny what you once did all day, now takes all day to do.
Life after George Town
Well we had a nice Motor Sail with a SE breeze from George Town to Rudder Cut.
Stayed the night on the hook and as usual at Rudder the current and wind did their best to tie knots in the anchor chain. It was too windy (not forecasted) to snorkel so we left next day and sailed in perfect light air conditions at $ to 6 knots all the way to Good Old Black Point.
Time for the mundane stuff, laundry, rubbish disposal and on the plus side Lorraine's Cafe for internet and beer.
Oh yes I apologise for the huge number of pictures OK, but it has been a while and they do often tell the story much better than we could.
Aslo if anyone knows of Old unused musical Instruments that could be donated to the Exuma youth Band please let us know. They really deserve all the help they can get, as they do a fantastic job with the local young people. And they sound absolutely incredible to boot.
