Funny how something simple like Lipton tea can make one happy.Little fish swimming under the boat and a heron on the bowprit meditating, waiting for a small movement to catch his breakfast.A Grey whale blows behind us and it meanders out of the bay, probably a male on his way back to Alaska.
The markets are lively and it's more fun bartering and chatting with local La Pazians.Such smiling ,gentle, relaxed people.
It's getting hot, hot,,hot here and I'm looking forward to next winter here.
We're anchored out in the bay and had to walk about 3km to the Port Captain yesterday and he said, you only need to call on the VHF (radio),anyway, we always meet people and we met the American guys (Charlie and Josh) ,who invited us to a pinata party. They're staying at Hotel California, which is an old convent converted into a posada.Eveyone who stays there is interesting, jewellry makers, from the mainland, labourers for the carnival, and many travellers.Yesterday we met some Swedish women there and it was fun for me to 'prata Svenska' again.
Tony's arranging my birthday onboard and we may sail out to the islands the next day ,before I leave. Sadly, I leave on Wednesday, for a long journey.I'm taking the bus to Tijuana, then walking across the border,to get the trolley to San Diego, where i fly via LA to Heathrow.
Tony will stay and sort out where to leave the boat and do some maintenance, before he returns to the UK for a few months.
John Steinbeck (Log from the Sea of Cortez) talks about the simplicity of the people from Baja.I cannot begin to describe the hospitality and friendliness we have experienced here.
Muchas gracias todos Amigos aqui.Viva Baja!
