After Lyon we headed north towards Berlin.  We stopped in Colmar for two days.  This is in the Alsace region in the northeast.  This is where some of the best White Wine comes from.  Now I prefer Red Wine but then again wine is alcohol.  We went walking through these massive fields of grapes.  They're open to the public and you can just walk through them anytime you want.  The grapes on the vines were small as its June and won't be ready until around November.  We had a Tart Flambee at a little place.  The owner was really cool and as we ate he came outside and started talking with us for like an hour.  He spoke no English but that doesn't matter we both speak poor French.  He was saying how he wants to open a place like this in Canada.  We told him Victoria would be the perfect place for it.  We never did get the mans name but we've come to call him "Dave or Alsace Dave".  After lunch went to a wine store next to the fields, and bought 6 bottles of wine.  Of course we did some wine tasting.  Now normally when you do tastings you shouldn't get drunk. I did a little.  I tasted almost all their wines.  I wanted to know what they had.  This is the end of Colmar. Where to next?
