This was a move I made without really thinking.  I had grown tired of York and was going to be taking a teaching course in Prague in 2 months.  I knew that the cost of living was really low and from this I made the intelligent decision I move there.
I spent three months living in a pension with an middle aged man who only spoke German and always walked around the room in his underwear.  He was a big man and acted with no respect to others. He would snore loudly every night and make lots of noise when he got up early in the morning. He tried to speak to me occasionally but I had no idea what he was saying.
I walked about 10km a day for 2 months.  So that's about....... 600km of walking. I went through 3 pairs of shoes during that time. Good thing a pair of shoes only cost €3.  This was good since I had no money.
Living in the city with no money, no friends, and can't speak the language was an experience I loved to hate. I did hear some really cool Czech bands on the radio.  On of my favourites was Krytof- Rubikon. I have no idea what they he was saying but it has a catchy tune. There was one thing that would always keep me entertained though.  It was when all the tourists would gather and watch the astrological clock in suspense for the little show and ten seconds after the little show, they were all absolutely disappointed.  I did take several pictures of the crowds reaction before and after.
It was unfortunate that near the end of September I tried to put my pictures on the computer and the whole card was wiped and is now trashed.  There goes 100 or so pictures.  Looks like I'll need to visit Praha again.
