It took us 9hrs to get from Florianopolis to Gramado, we got on the bus after spending 5hrs between Pizza Hut (which was really very fancy) and the only irish pub on the Island, Donovans.
The bus was non eventful only wakin up at some hr when the bus stopped and strugglin to untangle myself from my sleepin bag to get off the bus for a much needed nicotine hit cos the hangover was setting in!

We woke to a stunnin view of the mountains as we approached Gramado, and then quickly realised that although we had only bn on the bus for 8 odd hrs it seems that we had arrived on a rainy day in Germany!! WHAT THE HELL! Both of us still were decked out in our beach wear and smelling of suncream and now we were in blooody germany!!!

We got to our hostel and went for a snooze, then hit Centro, now to be fair this is goin to be difficult to describe so bear with me, it was the  oddest set up I've ever come across, it was full of these really ornate buildings, cabin style effect, all yr round santa grotto (I no!! I couldn't tel ya why that was there!) situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, so basically some german dudes arrived there and thought they would set up shop so hence the german feel.

Can u sense my negativity!! Don't get me wrong if u fancy a bit of a German Christmas at any time of year, in a really picturesque setting, with totally over priced vegetable soup that had beef in it!!! Then go to Gramado!!!

We stayed one nite and hit the road to Porto Alegre!!
