Its been a while since out last entry because we have been having fairly intensive Spanish lessons in Arequipa. The school was in a beautiful old colonial building right in the centre of town and is run by an amazing but completely mental Swiss guy. His comment about the blogs on travel pod was thus "There is no hard data!". Awesome. The lessons have gone pretty well and we are both at a much better standard than we were. We have been staying in a family homestay in the suburbs of Arequipa and nicer people you could not hope to meet. They took us to a party which was extremely hard work as not only did no-one speak any English, they didn't do us the favour of speaking to us like absolute retards as most people do here when they find out you are studying Spanish. It was an interesting day but very hard work. They play an interesting variation of "pass the wine" here where they pass beer then wine and finally, neat pisco.

We had our first case of food poisoning, and everyone will be suprised to know that it was Will rather than me. Following a day in bed and lots of cups of tea however, and hes all fine and dandy again. We also visited the Santa Catolina monastery which is a crazy place for rich nuns in the centre of Arequipa. The "cells" were generally far bigger and grander than either of our houses at home - suddenly the church doesn't seem like such a bad choice of career.

We have loved our time in Arequipa but its time to move on. We are off on a three day trek of the Colca Canyon tomorrow so expect lots of photos soon!

Glad to hear...
Will's better! Keep up the fun blog you guys.

Don't worry, I'm sure your Spanish teacher will be lured over to the side of fantastical blogging goodness eventually! :P
