We arrived in Ica later the same day (sorry guys Colgate made me do them as different entries so that we could get our little pins on the map) and took a cab straight to Huacachina which is a very small town built around an Oasis in the desert (yes, really). I donīt actually think I can do this place justice by describing it on here - it is as surreal as it is beautiful but we will add some pictures so that you may be able to get some idea.

The day we arrived here we went for a dune buggy ride and some sanboarding. Going in the buggy was pretty much like being on a two hour long rollercoaster ride and the sandboarding was absolutely mental - like snowboarding but down big mountains of sand (some of them are half a km high). I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first but was glad that Colgate managed to talk me into it as I absolutely loved it. We will upload the videos of us doing it asap as they are absolutely hilarious! Please note Colgate trying to be clever and do it standing up and ending up falling over an awful lot.

We spent most of yesterday chilling out by the hotel pool or the drinking cheap beer by the Oasis but also visited a couple of the local wineries in the afternoon which was pretty cool. We are catching an overnight bus down to Arequipa tonight and are sad to leave picturesque Huacachina but excited about the next bit!
