Where I stayed
From when I left Kuta to when I touched down in Adelaide it took 14 hours!! What a mission. The worst/most interesting part came when I was sitting on the toliets in Perth departures (my connection) with what is known in these parts as 'the asian shits', when the delighful lady over the loud speaker informed me that "Flight QF590 was delayed because neither of the on-board toilets were functional". Perfect.
So after a long journey, I finally arrived at Cannon Street backpackers, to be greeted by my good friend, Rikke, who I'd met working in Sydney (who incidentially had completely changed her plans just to meet me again!)
Adelaide was lovely, and I can definately see its charms. A city compromising of fine buildings and architecture. During my stay, we visited the botanical gardens, where I was treated to a traditional Danish lunch, strawberry sandwiches!! Funnily it works! Also we went to the Haigh's chocolate factory for thier free guided tour...we just went for the free samples and ended up spending a wedge of our budget. We also spent one day in Glenlg, this place was gorgeous! A very old style seaside town...the smells reminded me of England's finest! The beach was also very nice and we had an enjoyable day. A short but sweet visit in Adelaide was soon over, as we hired a car, ready to tackle the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne.
