South in search of elusive Sun and Warmth was the decision so we overnighted in Fort William before heading on to Oban and into our first real B & B on this jaunt, well out of town near the Isle of Seil.

These few days had not been organised as had most of our time so far, and provided some interesting times trying to find accommodation but we managed in spite of all the holidaymakers.

Getting to the  Isle of Seil down a truly narrow, one track road and over the humorously named "Atlantic Bridge" we enjoyed a walk across to the anchorage which is where we photographed the sign showing the resurgence of Gaelic. We finished off at the Tigh an Truish pub, so named because in the Jacobean days  when Scots were forced to wear trousers rather than kilts, this pub was the place for loyal Scots to leave their kilts and change into their trews before crossing over to the Jacobite mainland. For us the Tigh an Truish provided a great evening meal.

Breakfast was a social event with the other two couples staying at the B&B.  But the most memorable comment was made by a young Scottish couple from the Shetland Islands who were looking decidedly sunburnt after the previous sunny 22 degree day.  "Och - weeh'll be hoping its na anuther Scorcher like yestaday then...." We were speechless.

We had decided to drive back towards the Peaks District with the idea of sitting still for 4 days and avoiding driving in the heavy traffic of bank holiday weekend.
