With limited time, I opt for a tour of parque nacional los alerces, the focus of my stop here, rather than a trek.
The entire tour is Spanish speaking except me. I can follow parts of the guide's talk but it is much too fast. I focus on the views. The bus ride is a pretty one through forests, lakes and hills. We then hike (at super slow speed) to a boat which takes us to the park. The highlight of the park ark 1000 year old plus Alerces trees. They seem very similar to redwoods but much less dramatic. Overall, a nice tour but not compelling for those exposed to redwoods. I end up being the photo taker, as I frequently am, for couples wanting a photo of them both.
