My morning is errands. I drop off my laundry, buy a ferry ticket to Uruguay, stop by AMEX ... The afternoon is for exploration. A museum, botanical gardens, La Boca (a poor section that has been revived by its tradition for brightly painted buildings. The former two are nice but not exceptional. The last is unique but be very careful. I wandered a few blocks away for some photos. A local teen tried to take off my watch with a single pull. My clasp held. He had several friends around so I just exited quickly. He obviously felt impervious with his friends around.

For dinner, I finally hit Cabana Las Lilas. It is one of the best steak houses in Argentina that I failed to get in twice. Their primary business is producing beef and the restaurant is a showcase. Excellent! Despite most restaurants being barren, I have a 30 minute wait. I get seated outside at the perfect table. I can observe the sailboats in the harbor, people walking on the boardwalk, and an amazing full moon. The moon is occasionally obscured by some fast moving, low clouds. It adds a mystical quality. The tables around me seem to be all tourists. Since this is one of the most expensive, I wonder to what extent tourism is responsible for the growth of a much higher price point set of services. The service here is really good as well.

Through hard training, I have worked my way to the point where I can finish a huge steak (including appetizer, dessert) and bottle of wine with no problem. Any concerns over weight loss from Ecuador, Peru & Bolivia are gone.
