Here I am again. Today started at 5:00AM with getting dressed, reloading the bike trailer and then eating breakfast at the hotel.  Wasn't hard getting up since I was in bed at 9:00PM and asleep by 9:05PM.  Anyway, we rode through Texas all day, putting 414 miles on the bike.

We took a slight detour so that we could stop by the Honda dealer in Allen, TX (that's like a suburb of Dallas) so that Philip could get a part he needed for the CB radio cord on his bike.  Don't remember if I mentioned it yeterday or not, but we stopped at several Honda dealers yesterday looking for this part (in every city where Steve's GPS system told him there was a dealer -- nice little feature on our bike).  As it turns out, Honda has changed the coupling device to an eight pin instead of the 7 pin that came on all prior year Honda models.  So based on that he just bought a whole new cord system and installed it himself there in the showroom.

Today's ride was another very hot one.  This time the temperature rose to 102 degrees and stayed there for about 3 hours.  I only thought it was hot yesterday.  Finally decided to break out my cool vest.  Wow did it ever work great; I only wonder why I didn,t use it yesterday. There was absolutly nothing to look at scenry wise in this part of Texas.  Flat land of nothingness.  I'll try and upload a coupe pictures so you can get a good idea of what we got to look at all day.

The wind was very, very bad -- 20 to 25mph constant and gusting to 33 mph.  It forced me to look at the right side of the road all day because it pushed so hard on the helmet.  A few times I thought it was going to lift my helmet right off my head and sometimes I even had to help move my head to the forward position with my hands.  Going 70 mph in that wind didn't help either.  Steve had a real battle with the bike at times.

We stopped for lunch in a little blip of a town called Alvord, the only place to eat being K. T.'s Cafe.  Luckily, the food was very good.  We got to the hotel a little after 4:00 PM, rested a bit and then ate supper at the Pizza Hut.  We then made our daily run to Walmart -- we are going through water like there is no tomorrow.  We had a real scare today -- actually we all did in that I thought I had lost my fanny pack with all my IDs, credit cards, passport, money, etc.  After making some calls back to our lunch spot, etc., the fanny pack was found on the bed in the hotel room.  I didn't remember taking it out of the trunk so I never looked for it in our room -- scary isn't it.  That's it for today as it's already 10:00PM and we are repeating this morning's routine tomorrow.
