Got up late yesterday and had a beautiful drive across Negros (about 3 hours taking it slow) to the port town of San Carlos.
Unfortunately, it started raining when I got here, and my bright headlight goes out in the rain. The dims work, but those are more like fog lights that only succeed in illuminating my front fender. So, today I spent all day trying to get the light fixed (turned out the ballast that was used for the ultra bright high beam wasn't water proof and needed to be replaced), By the time I got it fixed, it was too late to catch the ferry over to Toledo in Cebu, so I caught some nice live music at a place in town. It was a real young college crowd, and I was likely the only person there over 23, but the music was nice. Noticed that the bulb is upside down (white light low, yellow light high), so had them flip it the next day.
Sinulog festival is in full swing in Cebu City, and I cannot find accommodation there, so sadly I will have to give that a miss for now. Had I planned farther in advance, I could have enjoyed Sinulog festival, but for now I am just kind of winging it on my way back to Siargao.
