After the sheep shearing shed we were worried about Bunker Bay which had been hyped as a great place to stay. Thankfully it did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded our expectations. Whats more it was full of little pathways that served as a great scooter race track which ensured the place got the thumbs up from the kids.

It was also great to have another week in the same place as the kids are still tired from moving on everyday or every other day at best. They are currently not that fond of the campervan - especially Zach who is struggling to understand why we can not just drive for 20 minutes each day rather than 3 hours and why we did not plan things better such that he has all of his toys from home along for the trip.

Its well into deep Autumn now so this far South the weather is mixed and we had our fair share of rain, but some great sunny days as well and some awesome waves which both Dad and I got stuck into on one sunny day.

With the weather mixed on some days we headed to Bussleton as we needed to do some mundane chores - like buy some shoes for Jamie (no luck in Bussleton - they suggested Perth - 300km away) and get a hair cut for me.

But the kids did get to see Rio in the cinema courtesy of Granna while Katherine and I took Dad and Benji to Lamont's for lunch and a wine tasting. They are famous for their chardonnay which was really excellent so we walked of with half a case after a superb lunch. We got back in time for a very english game of cricket on the beach.

Friday of our stay, the 28th was of course the Royal Wedding. There was no missing it here as the press coverage in Australia has been intense, it must be close to what everyone experience in the UK with a huge build up over the last 2 weeks and intense coverage in the days leading up. We all lined up in front of the telly - even Benji - and the boys watched snippets in between the longest ipad-fest they have experienced to date.

Bunker bay is right on one of the Southern Australian capes so I suggested an overly ambitious walk which had everyone from Zach and Jamie and kKtherine cursing me to even my mother telling me off for pushing the kids too hard! - But it was spectacular and I enjoyed it!
