We landed in Delhi and ventured out into the chaos and jammed into our taxi, probably the smallest and oldest taxi i've been in. There's really no rules on the road, just alot of honking and we pulled up to our hotel. First, through a pylon-ed line of cars waiting to go through bomb detection, open the hood, the trunk and mirrors checking under the car before we could proceed to the hotel lobby. The staff assisted with our bags as we proceeded through metal detectors to enter the hotel, some new security measures since last years incident.

we started with lunch at the hotel. for some reason i was under the impression that i could lose some weight on the trip, but that may not be the case, as we broke all the rules of what to eat, plenty of fresh salads and vegetables, ice in the drinks, and so on. plus, some of the best shrimp i've ever had.

after our afternoon siesta we headed out to a hookah bar and for some dancing where Kam and Manj took to the dance floor and whirled up a storm.

we have a full time taxi driver, his name is "Kaser", and he waits for us where ever we go. with a 15 minute ride, 2-3 hours out having dinner and dancing, then a ride back to the hotel. we pay 500 rupees (about $11.50 cdn).

an early night to bed as we're all struggling to adjust to the time change. at 4am, we're all awake and kam and I head for breakfast at 6am and then to the gym at 7am for a work out.

That day we head for the red fort, one of india's historic landmarks, and what a ride it is getting there. the pictures really can't describe the noise, odour and outright chaos all around. the streets are just jammed, each car or whatever moethod of transporation, tuk-tuk,  or donkey leaves only inches between each other. our driver Kaser commonly pulls in the mirror about two inches so we can pass people.

there are thousands of people all along the street for miles buying and selling stuff at bazaars and no white people insight anywhere. even driving thrugh the streets we meet all sorts of new friends.
