We woke to a windy morning in Montreal.

The day was spent walking down to and around Old Montreal. What an interesting place. The buildings were so...french! As per the last ime I was here, I wish I could speak french.

Remember how I commented how hot it was the last time? Lets just say the season has changed and it was cold. It reminded me of...Canberra in the depths of winter! And its only autumn. Luckily, the wind jacket I got a week ago kept me warm and the wind out! As usual, there is an air of europe around _ a stylishness and confidence of the people as they went about their business.

I must admit, seeing the lovely outfits in the windows, the jackets, boots, scarves, gloves made me wish I lived in that sort of environment but I got over it pretty quick! And for those who know what a fashionista and lousy shopper I am...you know it would have only been fleeting!

We head downtown and found Chinatown...hhmmm... Couldn't help ourselves as we looked for some vietnamese pho...nothing like a hot noodle soup to warm us up! The Chinatown seemed smaller than the one in Brisbane.

We pushed into the wind down by the wharf ( I thought I was going to get blown off my feet at one stage) and we find the Notre Dame Basilica. The number of churches, cathedrals around the city is quite beautiful.

Di told me this piece of trivia and I'll share it with you. Did you know that Celine Dion got married in the Notre Dame Basilica? It is an inspirational building and the bells...noice.

Another day walking the city and we avoid the underground part. Thats for Tuesday, i'll do that entry next.

Woo hoo! The red sox have won! I have to wear my red sox jersey tomorrow!
