The plan today was to go to the Kinetic Sculpture Race in Baltimore. On our drive there my friend, Bill, decided he wanted to see Camden Yards. I headed there and found a parking space. We went to the gift shop and Bill bought a bunch of souvenirs.  I was shocked at the prices.  Their T-shirts were over $100.

We had noticed signs for the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum so after visiting the gift shop we followed the signs there.  The home Babe Ruth was born in is now inside the building housing the museum.  They had some interesting displays.  The museum was worth a visit.  There's another sports museum in the neighborhood but we had run out of time on our parking space so we left.

Next we headed for Inner Harbor.  The Kinetic Sculpture Race is hosted by the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM), which is also the endpoint of the race, so we parked near there.  We had a map that gave us a rough idea of where the contestants would be at various times so we started following the race route in reverse looking for the vehicles.

Bill kept getting sidetracked as we walked around Inner Harbor.  We had worked our way to the eastern edge of Inner Harbor heading for Fells Point when Bill noticed a large sculpture on South President Street.  We walked over to the sculpture, which turned out to be the National Katyn Memorial.  We headed back toward the race route but Bill wanted to see the Civil War Museum.  We wandered in there for a while.  When we came out we and headed back toward the race course we saw one of the race vehicles pass by.  It turned out to be the last one.  The entire field had passed us by while we were in the museum.

We followed the course back to the AVAM.  All of the vehicles were stopped there so although we didn't get to see them in motion we at least were able to look them over.  We hung around a little while and then headed for Little Italy for dinner.

We checked out a few restaurants in Little Italy.  We were a bit early for dinner and several were closed and Bill didn't like anything on the menus of the rest.  We wound up eating in a Whole Foods in the neighborhood.  We then headed home for the evening.
