My headache was largely gone when I woke up. When I passed a window on my way to breakfast I saw that the weather was terrible. It was snowing and very windy and the lighting was awful. I thought it looked like I'd be staying in but the sun came out before I was even done breakfast. It looked much better so I changed my mind. The weather here sure can change in a hurry. I got ready and headed for the mountain.
When I reached the Hirafu ski area the lighting wasn't too bad and it was snowing lightly but it was still windy. As a result most of the chair lifts were closed and there was a long line for the gondola. The weather changed a lot throughout the day as did the lines for the gondola. I continued to ski until conditions deteriorated around 3:00 and I called it a day. I got in nearly 5,000 meters of vertical, which is enought to have made it worth heading for the mountain this morning.
