I went to the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center in Voyageurs National Park today. I was there to go on the Kettle Falls boat tour.
The cruise to Kettle Falls was much like the Grand Tour boat trip. We docked near Kettle Falls and the group walked to the Kettle Falls Hotel, an old lodge that serves food. I had no idea we were going to be visiting the hotel but everyone on the tour seemed to be planning on having lunch there so I joined them. I guess I should read the tour descriptions more carefully.
After lunch we walked to Kettle Falls. I was surprised to find that Kettle Falls have been replaced with a dam and there are no falls. We strolled back to the boat for the return trip to the Visitor Center. The trip took about 5 1/2 hours.
I stayed around the Visitor Center for a while chatting with a couple people from the tour before heading back to my hotel for the night.
