The friend who had joined me at CES left early today. I took the monorail over to the Convention Center again. This time I went to the Central Hall and started wandering around checking out the various displays. The Central Hall contained many huge booths from companies such as Intel, Microsoft, Nikon, Canon, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG and Motorola. There were a lot more product support people at many of these booths so I got some technical help with problems I've been having. I also spent some time listening to lectures, mostly by photographers at the Canon booth.

Again, there was more than I could possibly see in a day in just this small part of the show. I wandered around until the show closed at 6:00 and then caught a bus to the Cosmopolitan, again. I had called ahead and made a reservation at Jaleo for 10:30 but, fortunately, I was able to sit at the tapas bar much earlier.

The restaurant I ate in yesterday, e by Jose Andres, is in a private room in Jaleo but the restaurants are very different. At e all eight diners get the same courses at the same times whereas Jaleo is a typical restaurant where your seating, ordering and food choices are independent of the other diners. Jaleo serves tapas, a Spanish cooking style that Jose Andres popularized in America while in e the cooking is more like the style he learned working for Ferrin Adria at El Bulli, which was considered the best restaurant in the world for many years.

Jaleo is a small chain of restaurants with one branch in Las Vegas and three in the Washington, DC area. I've eaten at the ones in the DC area but this is the first time I've tried the one in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas location has a slightly different menu.  While it certainly wasn't like my meal last night, I had a pleasant dinner.

I left the Cosmopolitan and walked back to my hotel.
