We got started fairly early and drove over to the FedEx office. I was pleasantly surprised that they had both of my packages. We went back to the hotel and walked across the street to the MGM Grand where there was an off-site registration desk for the Consumer Electronics Show. My friend has been to CES before so they had already mailed him a badge and he was able to pick up his badge holder so he was all set.  Unfortunately, they couldn't print my badge there. I had to go to registration at the convention center.

We decided to take the monorail to the convention center. There was a huge line to buy tickets. Then there was a huge line waiting to get through the turnstiles. Then people were lined up on the platform. People couldn't get through the turnstiles quickly enough to fill the trains so they were leaving with empty seats. I'm sure the people at the following stops were happy about that. We eventually got on a train for the ride to the convention center.

I found the registration tent and waited through another line to get my badge. Then we finally went into one of the rooms of exhibitors. My friend wandered off almost immediately. I spent the rest of the day wandering past displays many of which were for products I didn't even know existed.

When the show was over I tried to get back on the monorail. The line was huge so I went and tried one of the buses instead. I went to the Cosmopolitan. I wanted to eat at Jaleo but they were fully booked for the rest of the evening.

I started walking back toward my hotel. I stopped in at the Rodney Lough, Jr. Wilderness Collection Gallery at City Center to check out his wonderful photography. I wandered a couple doors down to a place that I believe is called the Gallery at City Center Featuring Dale Chihuly. Whatever the name of the gallery is, it currently is showing a large number of pieces by Dale Chihuly. In addition to the glass pieces that you'd expect, they also have quite a number of paintings. He does the paintings to show the glass blowers what he wants them to make.  They're made with squirt bottles of paint.

I then walked back to my hotel and called Lotus of Siam. Unfortunately, they were full too so I wound up eating in my room.
