Well, after a brief stay at home, I'm back on the road again. I packed up the car and headed for the Pennsylvania Capitol. I'm originally from Pennsylvania but I never visited the capitol when I lived there.
The Pennsylvania Capitol is a Beaux-Arts, symmetrical, stone building with a central dome loosely modeled on the U.S. Capitol. It's a very nice building and one of the more attractive state capitols I've been to and I've been to quite a few. The rotunda is particularly attractive.
After leaving the capitol I went to the Rago Auction House to pick up a lamp I had bought bidding by phone and then drove to my mom's in the Philadelphia suburbs for the night.
