Where I stayed
What I did
I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, IL today. Three shows closed earlier this month and three shows will be opening soon to replace them. As a result, there was a lot less to see than usual. I suspect that summer is their peak season and now that summer's over, it's time to change shows.
I thought that the shows I did see were OK but, as is frequently the case when I go to a contemporary art museum, there weren't that many pieces that I really liked. The most interesting piece was a movie of a Rube Goldberg-type contraption called "The Way Things Go" by Peter Fischli and David Weiss. Unlike most Rube Goldberg contraptions that are strictly mechanical, this one involved a lot of fire. It looked like it was a lot of fun to make.
When the museum closed I went back to my hotel and started getting ready to leave tomorrow.
