Today we had to hike to as close to the foot of the Dinwoody Glacier as possible. The total distance from Cold Springs, where we started yesterday, to the moraine at the foot of the glacier is around 14.5 miles. Portions of the trail were wet and there were quite a few patches of snow. The streams were all higher than usual due to the rapid melting of the much heavier than usual snow pack from last winter. We couldn't find a way across one of the streams without getting our feet wet and had to wade across.
We eventually reached the last camp sites before the Dinwoody Glacier moraine where we set up camp for the night. Tomorrow is summit day so we went to bed early.
