Today was the last day of my 4-Day Defensive Handgun Class at Front Sight. The morning was spend on more shooting and malfunction drills. The heat was still brutal.  There was a bit of a wind.  On the plus side, it was cooler.  On the minus side, it blew my clothes around, making shooting from concealment more difficult.

The afternoon was spent being tested. You're given two options: you can do the tests with time pressure, which makes you eligible for a certificate saying you've passed the course, which you need to take more advanced courses, or you can take the test without timing, in which case you will only get a certificate saying you've taken the course. I took the test with timing. I didn't expect to do well enough to pass; unfortunately, I was right so I only received a certificate saying I had attended the class.  I did very well on accuracy but I need to work on speed.

After the class I headed for Las Vegas. I checked into my hotel and started packing a couple bags for my trip to Alaska where I'll be canoeing and camping. The things I needed to pack were scattered among the cargo box I have mounted on the trailer hitch and pretty much all of the storage boxes and suitcases in the car.  I underestimated how much work it was going to be and didn't finish until 3am.

Age & cunning has been know to beat youth and speed. Better accurate then fast.. When the fast guy misses the first shot, you got him..
