I left the North Point Campground and headed west out of the park to Hanksville and then south to Hite Marina. I've been driving around with a cargo box attached to my trailer hitch. Since I've heard the roads ahead are going to be much worse I thought I'd leave the cargo box in Hite Marina and pick it up in a few days. Hite Marina turned out to be a small collection of building offering a few services but one of those services turned out to be boat storage so I was able to leave the cargo box there. After filling the gas tank, I headed north back into the Maze District.
My destination was the Sunset Pass Campground, which is the one closest to the southern entrance. It's also before the notorious section of road near Teapot Rock that I've heard about. I'll be tackling that tomorrow.
