I went to the Balloon Fiesta by myself today. I didn't think any of my family members wanted to join me since they were flying home today and I didn't think anyone wanted to risk missing their flight due to getting stuck in traffic and I couldn't go knock on their doors to check since I left around 5:00am. When I got back to the hotel I found out I had been wrong about that. Oops.

Today was the last day of the Balloon Fiesta. Unfortunately, the winds were toward the south at all altitudes so the balloons were unable to return to Balloon Fiesta Park. Plenty of balloons flew today but they drifted out of view shortly after takeoff. The special shape balloons need more space to land and, since they couldn't predict where they'd be going, most of them decided not to fly although some of them inflated and stayed tethered for a while.

After the balloons were all gone I headed back to the hotel. I said goodbye to my family as they headed to the airport. I spent the rest of the day hanging around the hotel. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning and starting my drive home to Virginia. My trip is nearly over.
