Where I stayed
I spent a lot of the day going through e-mails, straightening out the problem with the shipment of a lens cap I ordered and shipping a big box of cold weather gear home in the hopes that I'll have room to sleep in the back of the SUV when I go to Burning Man.
In the late afternoon I went to the Georgeson Botanical Garden at the University of Alaska. Their Visitor Center was closed but the gardens were still open. I wandered around there for a couple hours taking pictures. Unfortunately, it started raining right around the time I arrived. It continued to get heavier and the winds continued to pick up, making it tougher to get decent pictures of the more rapidly moving flowers, so I eventually quit and went back to the hotel.
