I drove most of the day. As I entered Canada yesterday the scenery looked a lot like it had around North Cascades National Park but as I headed north it started to look more like Arizona. The hills are all covered with sand, rocks and sagebrush. I had no idea the area was a desert. Further north and west the grass and trees re-appeared. In fact, I've seen large fields of short grass that look like they could be sod farms but that seems unlikely since it's so remote.

I got a room in Burns Lake. Tomorrow I'll finish my drive to Prince Rupert to catch the ferry to Alaska.
