Arrived in hot SLC at 1pm yesterday ... after what seemed forever aboard planes and terminals. My old buddy Ben came to pick me up from the airport, whom I met as a missionary serving in Sendai Japan back in 2003-2005. It was great to see him face to face again after so many years, he's still the same guy and things shot off to a good start. Also with him his friend Danni.. whom he works with.. she provided the transportation and has been in the states for a few years and is originally from Ecuador.. cool chic.
During the car trip to his apartment Men at Works - Land down under came on the radio which i thought was fitting :D  The highway is mostly filled with massive american trucks, we pass a ton of billboards as  the sun is blares down and it looks/feels like a desert, this is Utah.
So I finally get to rest my head at the apartment and Ben leaves for work.. I have a shower and a bit of rest and eventually end up at a nearby Macy's to buy a couple of things, half of the brands are foreign to me but I see a few familiar faces... quantities are big and mostly cheap as I expected. Go America!
The weather changes and lightning with dark clouds fill the sky quickly... I'ts a downpour before I know it... I get a call from my mother on my roaming mobile number.. I tell her everything turned out fine and that her boy is doing well..love ya mum.. later I meet up with another old missionary buddy Cory Hansen... we go to a burrito joint and I have Horchata as my drink...mmmm good stuff... There are so many fast food joints here its crazy..
Ben gets back home at 11 and we talk till 2am... good times..
Today is our trip to Chicago to see the Strikeforce show Henderson vs. Fedor...awesome
We meet up with coach Ed and UFC fighter Brian Ebersole and have a training session before the fights..
