We flew to Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur (where we spent the night in an airport hotel that rents rooms by the hour). I checked in to my room for 1 (sniff) and Leonie and I said our tearful goodbye.

So in Bangkok solo at the moment - but in the spirit of things to come I went out and made some friends and had a fun night with Chiara and Jon from Ireland and Rich from Wales who the night before had sustained quite bad burns to his face after his cousin had set light to a helium balloon while Rich was sucking gas from it... boys! Had to spent part of the night convincing him that it just looked like bad sunburn and it would be sure to heal with no scarring. Apart from that I had fun. Had sooo much fun with Leonie over the last 3 months and I dearly wish she was coming to Australia with me, but I feel pretty confident about going it alone.

So that's it from Asia - off to Sydney tomorrow for my solo adventure.
