Where I stayed
Today we drove from Morgantown, West Virginia, to Jonestown, Pennsylvania. Stopped at a little Italian restaurant in a town whose name I don't remember for an early lunch, and took another break in Haggerstown, Maryland.
I can think of only three items worth mentioning.
The most notable is that we passed the "Eastern Continental Divide." The Eastern Continental Divide? I didn't know there was such a thing. (Far from the first thing we've learned about on this trip.) Turns out that (according to Wikipedia) This divide runs from the Twin Tiers of New York and Pennsylvania along the Appalachian Mountains to the tip of Florida and separates the watershed of the Gulf of Mexico from the Atlantic Ocean.
Item number two, not nearly as interesting, is that Route 81 has a LOT of trucks on it. Pain in the neck, since we'll be following that for a good part of the way home tomorrow.
Item number three escaped me while I was typing numbers one and two, which may suggest just how UNnoteworthy it was. In any case, I'll leave it at that and mention that we've now traveled some 10K miles through 24 states, a fair share of our National Parks and had a generally wonderful time. Unless something very odd (and unplanned) happens tomorrow, we won't be adding any more states on this trip. But there's always next year.
