FRIDAY - Docked in Shanghai about 7.30 a.m.  Unbelievable amount of shipping in and out of the port.  Lot of air pollution.  Breakfast and then off the ship about 9.30 a.m. for a 1 hour bus ride into the centre.  Shanghai is bustling, viberant, traffic everywhere and anywhere with modern parts and old parts.  All in all, a good place to visit.  After yet more shopping, back on board about 4.00 p.m. - drinks on balcony - weather still good but getting noticably colder.  Due to set off about 6.00 p.m. on route to Beijing.  Tonight is the last of 3 formal nights - tux can then be put away.  Val has starting packing one of the cases already - sure sign that the holiday is getting towards it's end.

SUNDAY - Day spent packing and making final arrangements for disembarkation. Val is in her element as shops on board are having their last days cruise sales.  Where are we going to put the stuff, heaven knows!!

MONDAY - 2 days at sea now before docking at Beijing about 7.30 a.m.  We leave the ship there and spend 4 days at the hotel before setting off back to the UK.  In the meantime, we have two visits planned - 1 to The Great Wall and 1 to the Forbidden City.

We are due back at Heathrow about 12.15 Saturday 3rd on flight EK001 from Dubai.  We fly from Beijing to Dubai on EK0307.  A couple of hours in terminal then onto Heathrow.

This is the last of 4 blog messages as I am not sure of finding an internet cafe in Beijing.  See you all soon.

Love
Val & Keith
