On Monday, everyone packed up and put things away and went off in their separate directions.

My father and I went to the Banks Peninsula to a remote bay where we spent two nights at Double Dutch. (Double Dutch - Accommodation near Akaroawww.doubledutch.co.nz/).

A lovely comfortable self catering house which we had all to ourselves the first night and shared with some interesting tourists from America and India the second night

wednesday was a long day in the car, leaving just after 8 am we travelled north along the east coast up to the Marlborough Sounds. We drove the winding track right into the heart of the sounds - to the end of the road! At Kenepuru we came to the most beautiful holiday place you can imagine at about 6:30pm!

But it was worth the long drive, as we drove along we had views into the different bays and now that we are here, it is just so calming and I can see that we can spend the next few days really relaxing.

My sister has joined us here and there are lots of fun things to do.....swimming, hot tub, fishing, kayaking, sailing, going out to the mussel beds in a boat, walking.... And there are even hammocks strung up for some serious relaxing!
