26th November – 1st December
Distance Travelled: 1602km
Wagga Wagga was the longest stay yet, and yet the one where we spent the least time at the tent. We spent most evenings at Lauren and Nic's catching up with the family, and meeting our gorgeous new niece, London. We also got some time for TV – we have decided we are not missing much!
Friday night we had dinner at the Koringal hotel (nominated for sports bar of the year), and Saturday was Nic’s 30th with a racing theme, luckily we were only using fake money because between the 2 of us we lost $32 000, but we had fun doing it.
Wagga was the spot for bad weather, first night (Thursday) we had a big storm which ripped the annex from the tent. After that it rained daily, except luckily for Saturday, the day of the racing party. The good news on this was that the Tent doesn’t leak!
The car went in to for a service on the Friday and we were advised it had to come back on Monday for further work. A new ball joint, wheel alignment and radiator later we have a fantastically working vehicle that was ready to take on the snowy.
Things found: Shifter (it wasn't stolen with the beer after all)
Things Broken: Broome
Lost: coffee mug
Fixed: radiator, ball joint wheel alignment, tie down point
Things learnt: don’t face the open annex into the wind of an oncoming storm
