We survived the crazy traffic/construction through the Chicago area yesterday!

We are heading out Interstate 80 and this morning we crossed the Mississippi River. Today we are traveling across Iowa. The area is really dry here. Corn fields are literally brown and brittle. I hope nobody throws a cigarette out their window! Soybean fields are still green though.

Fueled up this morning and paid $3.99. Illinois was $4.19 so we were lucky that we could hold out until Iowa.

Typical of this area, the produce section of the grocery store is half the size of what we have back home. Good thing I brought veggies from the garden!

Wow seeing the picture of the corn fields is eyeopening. Isn't Iowa where they built a builing out of corn? Ok so my blonde is showing thru. Have a great time and some popcorn on me(I know lame)
