Morocco is known to have many, many cats. It is absolutely true. At the beginning of our trip, Choyce set herself the mission of spotting 150 cats -- she was easily able to surpass this number.
Dogs, on the other hand, not so much.
Storks, it seems, are also relatively common. We saw them in several parts of the country.
Choyce enjoyed photographing the birds. She was particularly pleased with the rather friendly one we met in the Sahara Desert.
Mules were the slow, steady backbones of the country.
And beetles held some strange fascination to those of us with cameras....Udo is to thank for finding dung beetles at work!
Herds of goats and sheep were a frequent sight, both in the High Atlas and Middle Atlas regions. The cattle, on the other hand, had called a taxi.
In the desert, we were incredibly fortunate to come across a rare Wookie den. After much coaxing and cajoling, Chewbacca came out of retirement for a few brief moments. We did not get autographs, nor did we ask for a DNA sample. Oddly, Chewebacca spoke some sort of Berber German dialect.
The desert offered up other secrets to us. Clearly some critters had more of a night life than we did.
Of course, we loved the camels!
But, Jaz loved them best of all!
